Wang earns entry into prestigious programs

SALISBURY, MD ---Dr. Xiaohong (Sophie) Wang of Salisbury University's Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences has been accepted to the SEED (Software Engineering for Educational Development) program. She will teach two "capstone" software engineering courses at SU. As part of her participation with SEED, Rational Software of Lexington, MA, granted her software vital to computer science majors.

In addition, Wang has been accepted by the IBM Scholars Program. Considered the first step toward achieving e-business and technology leadership within the academic community, the program affords her access to IBM's wealth of resources and information. IBM has granted her professional database software that will be used by both computer science and information systems management students.

Earlier this year, Wang was named recipient of the Welcome Fellowship, a three-year, $20,000 grant, for her work with object-oriented computer programming.
