Voices of Adoption meets November 25

SALISBURY, MD ---The public is invited to attend Salisbury University's first-ever Voices of Adoption event on Monday, November 25, at 8 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge, Guerrieri University Center.

In conjunction with National Adoption Awareness Month, the event will give people the opportunity to speak about their experiences with adoption. Voices of Adoption was developed by SU professors Ann Wilmer and Dennis Leoutsakas in hopes of finding connections with other triad members, including adoptees, birth parents and adoptive parents.

Leoutsakas hopes to create a "home base" for people to go to feel comfortable in talking of adoption experiences. "Hearing and telling stories will help others realize they are not alone," he said. "The event may spark an interest in developing a club or evolve into a support network of sorts."
