QuinTango comes to SU November 23
SALISBURY, MD ---Salisbury University presents the world-renowned tango music group QuinTango on Saturday, November 23, at 7 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium.
The only such group to give a command performance at The White House, QuinTango has been featured on network television in the U.S. and abroad. The five-member troupe includes violinists Joan Singer and Rachel Schenker, cellist Jorge Espinoza, pianist Bruce Steeg and Libby Blatt on double bass. QuinTango's music is expressed in dance by Argentinian guest artists Carina Losano and Pablo Repun.
The group's belief that music allows diverse cultures to recognize what they have in common has resulted in such adventurous programming as performances of Turkish tango. Their educational mission offers a variety of outreach programs for all grade levels.
With sizzling energy and contagious passion, QuinTango performed 46 concerts last season in venues ranging from elementary schools to packed concert halls.
A master class is offered from 5-6 p.m. onstage in Holloway Hall Auditorium.
The performance and the master class, both free and open to the public, are sponsored by the Office of Cultural Affairs and Museum Programs. For more information call 410-543-6271.
