Elmore Scholarship awarded to Hu

SALISBURY, MD ---Teresa Hu of Salisbury is recipient of the Margaret Johnson Elmore Nursing Scholarship for the 2002-3 academic year at Salisbury University. A graduate of Parkside High School, she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in nursing.

"Teresa was chosen based on the belief that she possesses the exceptional qualifications, aptitude and potential for an outstanding career in nursing. This award should greatly assist her in achieving this goal and serving her community in this important capacity," said Mary DiBartolo, the University's nursing scholarship coordinator.

The award was established in 1993 by Page Elmore in memory of his mother. Awarded each year to a nursing major from the Eastern Shore of Virginia, or from Wicomico, Somerset or Worcester counties in Maryland, it provides up to $3,000 a year, for up to four years, to an incoming freshman who meets the academic and residential criteria.
