SU Art Galleries Presents Chloe Bass' 'The Book of Everyday Instruction' October 22-December 18
SALISBURY, MD---New York artist Chloë Bass explores one-on-one social interaction in her eight-chapter exhibition project “The Book of Everyday Instruction.”
Chapter two of the project, “Things I’ve Seen People Do Lately,” is exhibited at the Salisbury University Art Galleries Downtown Campus from October 22-December 18. An artist talk with Bass is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, October 22, followed by an opening reception from 6:30-8 p.m.
Following “Chapter One: You+Me Together,” which debuted at the SPACES gallery in Cleveland, OH, last spring, “Chapter Two” focuses on what it means to be a “duo” when only one person (the watcher) knows the pairing exists. Described as “part observation-based text installation, part video peephole,” the exhibit demonstrates the poetics of how people come together accidentally.
Gallery hours are noon-5 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturdays. Sponsored by SU Art Galleries, admission is free and the public is invited.
