SU Art Galleries Inaugurates New Space With 'inFORMATION' Exhibit September 8-November 5

The new location’s inaugural group exhibit and series of live events, “inFORMATION: Black Culture in Contemporary Art,” runs from September 8-November 5.
The exhibition opens with screenings of Sun Ra’s 1974 Afro-futurist film, Space is the Place, at 2:30, 4 and 5:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays.
A reception is 5-8 p.m. Friday, September 16, featuring an interactive performance by Baltimore artists Ada Pinkston with Ancestral Duo and Amorous Ebony.
Artist David Brame gives a talk at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, September 29. A reception celebrating the culmination of his Afro-futurist drawing residency at SU follows.
The group Black Radical Imagination presents a screening and talk at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, October 13. A performance party featuring the Baltimore Boom Bap Society is 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 21.
The series culminates with two community events: a fashion show presented by Salisbury’s Kim Star Designs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 27, and a Fenix Youth Program talent show at 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 4.
The temporary gallery space is open Thursdays and Fridays from 2-7 p.m., with additional hours during special downtown events, including the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District’s monthly 3rd Friday celebration.
