Student Health Services

Student Health Services (SHS) at Salisbury University plays a vital role in supporting the health, well-being, and academic success of our students. We are committed to providing high-quality, accessible, and confidential healthcare tailored to the unique needs of the college population.

Our Core Services Include:

  • Primary and Urgent Care: Treatment for common illnesses and injuries, health assessments, and referrals to specialists when needed.
  • Preventive Health Services: Including immunizations, physical exams, health screenings, and wellness education.
  • Immunization Compliance: We ensure students meet state and university immunization requirements, in alignment with guidelines from the American College Health Association (ACHA) and the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). This helps prevent outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases and protects the broader campus community.
  • Support for Clinical & Experiential Learning: For students participating in internships, clinical placements, or field experiences, SHS assists with any required health clearances and immunization documentation.
  • Health Education & Outreach: We promote a culture of wellness through education on topics such as nutrition, stress management, sexual health, substance use, and disease prevention.
  • Laboratory Services: On-site lab testing and coordination with outside labs, including blood titers for students who are unable to locate immunization records.

Why It Matters:

A healthy student is a successful student. By helping students maintain their physical and mental well-being, SHS enhances academic performance, promotes personal growth, and fosters a safer and more inclusive campus community. Whether you're seeking care for an illness, need documentation for a clinical rotation, or want to learn more about staying healthy, SHS is here to support you every step of the way.
