At Salisbury University, the health, safety, and well-being of our students are our top priorities. Hazing, in any form, poses significant risks, mistreats those involved, and undermines the integrity of Student Organizations. The most harmful action a Student Organization (whether social, honor, service, or athletics) can take is to engage in Hazing. Hazing is against federal (Stop Campus Hazing Act) and state law (Section 3-607, Criminal Law Article, Annotated Code of Maryland) and is strictly prohibited at the University.
Hazing is defined in the University’s Code of Community Standards, and allegations of Hazing against individual students and/or student organizations are administered in accordance with the provisions in the Code of Community Standards and/or the Code of Student Organization Standards, respectively.

The Campus Hazing Transparency Report summarizes findings concerning any established or recognized student organization found to be in violation of the University's Hazing Policy.
In compliance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act, the University will begin reporting crime statistics for hazing incidents in its Annual Security Report to be published in 2026.
