Workshop Requests
- Only for SU students, or faculty and staff who are serving SU students.
- During the academic year, we receive a large number of requests so please give us at least three weeks advance notice for all requests.
- Please select from the list of workshop topics provided. If the topic is not listed, please specify what you are interested in and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
- We ask for a minimum of 15 audience participants for each presentation.
- If the Counseling Center is unable to fulfill your request, we will try to connect you with other campus partners or provide alternative resources.

Join the Counseling Center staff and relax with friendly dogs from Pets on Wheels every 2nd and 4th Thursday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Fireside Lounge. See below for the full list of event dates!

Take some time to prioritize your wellbeing with pups who love to be loved! You will also have the opportunity to interact with counselors from the Counseling Center who can answer general questions about services and how to schedule.

Take 5
Take 5 with the Counseling Center this fall semester to explore mindfulness through the five senses. Stay tuned for this year’s date and location!
- Touch: Relax with Zen gardens, pet friendly pups from Pets on Wheels, and make your own stress ball.
- Sight: Express yourself through chalking and coloring with others.
- Hear: Join in the drum circle, experiment with crystal sound bowls, and make a rain stick.
- Smell: Create your own essential oil scent.
- Taste: Explore what different flavors bring up for you, and take a candy bracelet so you can continue your mindful experience all day!

Out of the Darkness

Out of the Darkness Campus Walks are the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) signature event designed to engage communities in the fight to prevent suicide.

Join us on Friday April 25th, 2025 at 11 AM in The Wicomico Room for FREE by registering at afsp.org/Salisbury. Register individually or start a team to raise funds and walk as a group! All money raised goes towards AFSP and their mission to prevent suicide.

Registration and resource tables will take place from 11 AM until 12 PM. At 12 PM the opening ceremony will begin, followed by a mile and a half walk around campus.

PLEASE NOTE: Visitor parking is free, but permits are required. Please request a permit from the visitor permits website.

Take Back the Night

Take Back the Night is a program held at locations nationally, with the purpose of increasing awareness and prevention of sexual violence while empowering survivors.

Join us on Thursday April 3rd, 2025 at 6 PM in the Wicomico Room, GSU!

Resource tables are available from 6:00 PM until 6:40 PM. We will then have a rally and march around campus! Speakers and performance groups will begin at 7:15 PM followed by an open mic Speak Out!

Attendance is free and the event is open to the public! PLEASE NOTE: Visitor parking is free, but permits are required. Please request a permit from the visitor permits website.

Creative Connections

Creative Connections is a drop-in art group where students can unwind, explore new art activities, and connect with others. Each week features a creative project—like painting, collage, decorating succulent pots, or making shrinky dinks—that invites reflection and self-expression.

You don’t need any art experience or supplies—just bring yourself and an openness to try something new.

This group offers a supportive space to use creativity as a gentle way to process experiences, reduce stress, and build community. Sharing is always optional, and the focus is on exploration, expression, and connection.

The group meets every Wednesday during the fall and spring semester from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM in the GSU, Room 206.
